“ Came back to Paandi’s after what felt like ages and I have to say, it still hits the spot. Brickfields is full of food gems, but Paandi’s continues to stand strong as one of those places that just feels like home. What stood out immediately? That garing thosai; perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside. Just the way I love it. Paired with their brew coffee, it was an absolute treat. The kind of breakfast (or anytime meal, really) that wraps you in comfort and nostalgia. On my first visit back, I tried their curries and it really did feel home-cooked. Rich, flavorful, and not overly oily like some other places tend to do. It had depth and warmth; something you don’t always find when eating out. Loved it so much, I actually came back again in the same week, that says a lot! This time, I went for the tandoori chicken and cheese naan. The chicken was cooked well, juicy with a nice char, and seasoned perfectly. As for the cheese naan, the texture was amazing, crisp and fresh out of the tandoor. While the cheese could have been more flavourful (I didn’t get that gooey, cheesy kick I was expecting), the naan itself was still delicious on its own. Service was quick, prices were affordable, and the overall vibe is very no-fuss, casual, and welcoming, exactly what you’d want from a beloved neighbourhood restaurant. If you’re ever in Brickfields and craving solid, no-nonsense South Indian fare (or just some crispy thosai and a strong cup of coffee), Paandi’s is worth the stop. It’s one of those places that stays consistent over the years, and that’s pretty special. Will definitely be back again! ”
“ The food here is truly delicious rich flavors, generous portions, and very authentic Indian taste. I really enjoyed every dish I tried. However, I do hope the restaurant can improve the customer service. The staff came across as quite rude during my visit, which affected the overall experience. With friendlier service, this place could easily be one of my top favorites. ”
“ Very amazing place. Recommended by my neighbour Steve Subramaniam in Perth. Wow he is right. This place rocks! Amazing food, really friendly service with the wait staff constantly coming to our table to top us up. It was about 12:30pm on a Friday when we stepped in for Lunch. The variety was plentiful and taste, very authentic. Very happy with the masala tea and bru coffee. Will definitely recommend this spot for awesome banana leaf! ”
“ One of the busiest Indian Banana Leaves rice ever. Came here for lunch today and it’s never disappointing. Love the crab curry here and they are very generous with their side dish. Today, we had the lamb and chicken. It’s just amazing and for the drinks, I order a coke with lime. Perfect combo or you can have it with Ice tea with lime. If you happen to be around here and not sure what to eat, give this place a try. Won’t regret it. ”
“ Sri Paandi Restaurant in Brickfields offers a vibrant culinary experience for those seeking a spicy and flavorful late lunch. The self-service concept adds a casual charm, though the service itself felt rather average. The dishes, while undeniably tasty and satisfying, leaned heavily on spice, perhaps overshadowing more nuanced flavors. Outdoor seating provides a relaxed vibe, but parking is a challenge—best to park further away and enjoy a short stroll to the restaurant. Though the food stood above average, there’s room for refinement in execution and service. Sri Paandi delivers a decent meal, but it stops just shy of exceptional. ”
